Join the Alumni Board Today Written by: J. Michael Kellar Date: 2006-11-21 Brothers, As some of you know by now, our chapter has experienced tremendous growth and success over the past two years. Due in part to a great recruitment program and outstanding academic and ritual program, our chapter has grown to over 50 men, a sustained milestone not seen in our chapter’s history in nearly two decades. Now more than ever, the chapter needs guidance and support from its alumni. Over the past five years, a few of us have been able to maintain the operations of the kitchen while helping advise the chapter officers. We are now realizing that with the chapter’s growth, our needs are expanding exponentially. As a result, we are seeking brothers to help the Alumni Board in its daily operations and strategic planning. Over the past ten years, Theta Lambda has been recognized and/or rewarded, both locally and internationally in the following areas:
Additionally, we’ve been honored to have several members serve on our international ritual team, several members participate/complete Impact Leadership (international leadership academy), two members receive the coveted Cyril F. “Duke” Flad Outstanding Undergraduate Award and one alumni be inducted into the fraternity’s Order of Merit. As you can see, by volunteering for the chapter, you will become part of a program that has sustained excellence and has its focus set on continued stability and growth! I encourage you to consider sitting on our Alumni Board. As a member of the Board, your time commitment can be as much as you make it. We generally meet in person at least once per semester. Outside of that, our duties have been split between major programs (i.e., Homecoming, kitchen management initiation, Founder’s Day) and general operational questions handled through e-mail. We are inviting all interested alumni, both within and between our Zetas, to an informal meeting. The meeting will take place Sunday, December 10, 2006 at 5:30pm at the chapter house. The purpose of this meeting is to give you a better understanding of the Alumni Board purpose and to field any questions you may have about the chapter.
