    Important Dates in Lambda Chi Alpha History
  • November 2, 1909: Warren Albert Cole and two friends founded the first chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha, Alpha Zeta at Boston University.
  • November 15, 1911: Alpha Zeta issued itself the first chapter.
  • March 22, 1913: The second national assembly was held in Boston. This date is now commemorated as Founders' Day.
  • April 9, 1914: At the third national assembly, the present ritual, written by John E. "Jack" Mason, was adopted.
  • October 11, 1924: Eleven local societies were formally installed as the eleven chapters of Theta Kappa Nu.
  • March 22, 1932: Founders' Day was first celebrated.
  • November 28, 1938: At the National Interfraternity Conference in New York, conversations leading to the union of Theta Kappa Nu and Lambda Chi Alpha first took place.
  • October 11, 1939: Union Day, marking the formal installation of 28 chapters and 7,000 members of Theta Kappa Nu into Lambda Chi Alpha.
  • August 1972 At the 33rd General Assembly, pledgeship was abandoned in favor of associate membership.
  • 1984: Lambda Chi Alpha celebrated its 75th Anniversary.
  • August 1991 The 200,000th Lambda Chi was initiated during the International Leadership Seminar in Bowling Green, Ohio.
